Robotics Curriculum
Preparing for the next Industrial Revolution - Industry 4.0
What is the next Industrial Revolution? In short, it’s the next phase of the Third Industrial Revolution, taking computers and automation and enhancing it with artificial intelligence and machine learning. What does that mean for us? It means that we are preparing our children for a future that does not exist yet, but is on the way. The My Future 4.0 Summit, held at the Ticketpro Dome in May, is a must-see as it displays what this future might look like.
As schools, we need to keep up with this new trend and ensure our children are ready for what this exciting new future may hold. As an Advtech school, Pecanwood College has an established Digital Literacy Curriculum that exposes children to coding and entry level robotic instructions. Pecanwood Prep is excited to announce that, to take this development a step further, a full robotics curriculum will be introduced on the 1st June, in partnership with Stem Dynamics.
From Grades 1 to 7, children will begin on their robotics journey, learning coding from basic to advanced and using a variety of apps and robots in order to bring the subject to life. With a full competition set en route to South Africa for our school, we hope to be able to field teams at the VEX Robotics Championships in the near future.
Pecanwood Prep will certainly be ensuring children are “Prepared for Life”.
