THE STORY OF OUR ADOPTED RHINO #1

He arrived at the rhino orphanage in June 2021- an orphaned 7 month old white rhino calf. He was in a terrible state having lost his mom in a horrific poaching incident. He was named Duane. He was put on an IV line for dehydration by the vet. It took his carers two days to get him to drink a bottle of milk. Duane was traumatised and did not tolerate any humans being close to him. He eventually took a bottle of milk through the barrier fence. Duane was watched closely for colic and gastric ulcers which is caused by stress. #pecanwoodcollege #ecoschool
