Admissions

Every family applying for admission to Pecanwood College is given equal opportunity irrespective of gender, race, religion or cultural background. However, every family will be informed in the admission interview of the school’s value base.

Admission to the Preparatory and High School will be conditional upon the following:

• That the pupil meets the minimum academic standard of the grade being applied for. A placement assessment appropriate for the grade will be administered by staff to determine the pupil’s academic profile.
• That the pupil and parents agree to abide by the school's Code of Conduct.
• That the parents have fully completed the online application form and signed and returned the offer letter to the school. 

Admission to the Pre-Preparatory will be conditional upon the following:

• Children must be toilet trained - no nappies, bottles or dummies are allowed when entering Grade 000.  
• The National Statutory Age requirements for admission into a specific grade are:
o Grade 0 - 5 years turning 6 
o Grade 00 - 4 years turning 5  
o Grade 000 - 3 years turning 4
o Grade 0000 – 2 years turning 3

• There is no assessment for Grade 0000, Grade 000 and Grade 00.
• Children will be required to complete an assessment before admission into Grade 0, which will be conducted by the Educational Psychologist.
